Job Title: Estimator

The following duties are typical for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.


  • Provide estimates with a focus on Heavy Civil and Mining related projects

  • Attend pre-bid meetings and perform site work evaluations

  • Identify labor, material and time requirements required to perform work

  • Quantify takeoffs and complete estimate preparation for concrete and earthwork

  • Subcontractor, supplier, and client interactions

  • Preparation of Request for Quotations and analysis of subcontract and material proposals

  • Ability to multi-task and handle tight deadlines

  • Ability to estimate entire project or as part of estimating team depending on size and scope of project

  • Ability to bid underground pipe, marine and site development

  • Ability to perform if necessary, as project manager on projects ranging between $100k - $1 million

  • Experience with CM/GC delivery process – developing GMP and proposal development, time and materials, lump sum, and unit pricing


Technical Knowledge:

Ability to perform a variety of duties that may often change and work within standards of accuracy.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand or walk for long periods; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Climb up and down ladder, scaffolds, and other objects. Stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices, and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites.

Environmental Adaptability:

Work inside 95% of time and outside 5% of time in all weather conditions.

Training and Experience:


  • Degree in Construction Engineering Management, Civil Engineering, or other related Engineering degree

  • Minimum 5 years Heavy Civil Construction experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in Heavy Bid, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, B2W, HCSS

  • Bluebeam and AutoCad skills a plus

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Team player, able to get along with a diverse group of people working towards a common goal


Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $49,118.00 - $132,753.00 per year
