Job Title: .Net Technical Lead

Web Applications Technical Lead (.Net)
The Web Applications Technical Lead is responsible for performing a broad range of software development and maintenance assignments for existing and newly developed software applications and systems. The Web Applications Technical Lead reports directly to the VP of Development. This position collaborates with internal and external software team members, designers, and product owners to ensure the timely release and quality of new web-based applications and updates to existing applications.
Responsibilities include:
• Participating in the planning and scheduling of software releases
• Reviewing and assessing product requirements
• Developing and maintaining enhancements to existing applications, systems and infrastructure to meet client needs
• Performing hands-on tasks on an as-needed basis, including coding, developing unit tests, fixing defects, and configuration management
• Architecting, implementing, and testing new product features
• Providing leadership and technology design expertise to other members of the development team • Providing oversight and mentoring of junior team members
• Collaborating with external development teams as needed to assist with the development of new products and services
• Assisting with the integration testing and deployment of deliverables from external teams
Conforming to all standard operating procedures regarding software development, testing, documentation, configuration, and deployment
• Participating in regular Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, sprint reviews, and daily scrums
• Working with Product Support and Production teams to troubleshoot production issues
Requirements of the Position:
This person needs to have a solid foundation in computer science, with deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multi-threaded programming, and software design.
Experience Required:
• 10 or more years of experience in software development
• 8 or more years of experience developing n-tier web applications
• 5 or more years of experience in a team lead role
• Experience in any facet of the retail industry
• Previous experience in a lead role
• Experience in cloud-based computing
• Experience in end-user product development or SaaS development
Analytical/ Technical
• Expert in C# and .Net MVC
• Knowledge of relational database design, including concepts such as indexes, keys, joins, cursors, etc.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL, stored procedures, views, triggers, performance tuning, and best practices
• Proficient in Javascript
• Advanced knowledge of JavaScript frameworks and libraries including jQuery, Bootstrap.js, Angular.js, Node.js
• Good working knowledge of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3
• Experience with asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
• Familiarity with web service concepts, architectures, and protocols, including REST, WCF, JSON, XML, JMS
• Experience working with very large data sets
• Experience with source code management using Git, including branching, merging, resolving conflicts, and repository management
• Ability to create technical solutions according to interaction/visual specifications
• Strong focus on software quality via developer level testing and test automation
• Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly
• Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude
• Familiarity with Team City or similar build tools
• Experience with numerical analysis tools such as MatLab or Octave
• Experience with statistical analysis or Big Data
• Understanding of Agile methodologies
• Strong attention to detail • Strong problem-solving abilities • Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Strong verbal and written communications skills; must be able to effectively convey plans and ideas, document designs and processes, and effect successful completion of software development projects
Education Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering or a related discipline, or comparable experience
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science
• Background in statistics, data analytics, or applied mathematics
