Job Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Description: 
Summary: The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead a small team of mechanical engineers and

drafters to design plumbing and HVAC systems for commercial buildings. Candidate will interface

directly with clients and design/construction team members.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Works closely with project consultants and interface with internal project team members.

• Support the development and implementation of standard engineering department

calculations, processes, and procedures

• Prepares and reviews drawings and calculations for plumbing, piping, and HVAC systems.

• Prepares and reviews load calculations (Using Carrier HAP).

• Equipment and component selection for plumbing, piping, and HVAC systems.

• Work internally with construction team to solve constructability issues

• Coordinate with operations staff to standardize equipment and ensure quality control

• Coordinate with engineering manager to prioritize department training needs

Education/Experience

Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four year college or university,

plus minimum of ten years related experience in construction industry or applicable experience in

similar field.

• HVAC, plumbing, hydronic piping and natural gas design experience is required

• Medical gases, laboratory gases, green system designs (such as solar hot water, composting

toilets, rainwater harvesting, etc.), clean room/laboratory design experience is preferred.

• Understanding of Uniform Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code, Seattle &

Washington State Energy Code, and other building life safety codes

 

 

Computer Skills


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Current versions of AutoCAD and

  • Revit MEP proficiency; Bluebeam

  • Preferred Certificates and Licenses

  • Washington State registered professional engineer

  • LEED accredited

  • ASHRAE or ASPE membership
