||REPORTS TO: Research Scientist or Senior Scientist
Cephalon is seeking a Research Associate in CNS Biology to join their dynamic and growing drug discovery team. This exciting opportunity will allow the successful candidate to impact established efforts and exploratory initiatives by supporting behavioral studies in the field of in vivo neuropsychopharmacology.
The successful candidate will have expertise in behavioral pharmacology. This position requires the individual to use and apply standard principles, theories, and techniques to solve specific problems in the field of animal behavior; specifically in rodent models of cognition, learning, and memory. The candidate will be expected to work independently with some supervision, perform complex and routine work, and analyze and interpret data. Experience with animal behavior, dosing, data analysis, spreadsheet and graphing software is required.
ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
This individual will be expected to conduct independent laboratory research according to established protocols and may be asked to assist in the development of new protocols. A demonstrated ability to troubleshoot when problems arise and to gather relevant information via literature searching and consulting with knowlegable individuals will be expected. Efficient experimental design, schedule and maintenance of supplies will be expected with minimal input from supervisor. This individual will also analyze, interpret and accurately record data generated appropriately in a laboratory notebook and report data to supervisor and at group meetings.
