Overview:
The ideal Systems Analyst candidate will have strong interpersonal, analytical, and critical thinking skills. The role includes working with the IT team to deliver tier one customer support and administration of the IT infrastructure. They should have a deep knowledge of Windows Administration, Networking, Virtualization, Backup and Disaster Recovery, and Security best practices, with agility to learn new technologies as needed.

What You"ll Do Day to Day:
  • Resolve support request tickets through helpful, attentive, and courteous interactions.
  • Design, implement, maintain, optimize, and upgrade IT infrastructure including but not limited to Servers, Networking, Storage, and Security Systems.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
  • Create and Contribute to system standards and documentation.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identifies approaches that leverage our resources and provides economies of scale.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
  • Manage the user lifecycle following Change Control processes.
  • Repairs and recovers from hardware or software failures. Coordinates and communicates with impacted constituencies.
  • Apply OS patches, and upgrades.
  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization.
  • Make recommendations on how to provide our users with the best computing experience possible by analyzing past tickets and forecasting future needs.
  • Setup, configure, and support mobile devices.
  • Manage spare inventory of user computing equipment.
  • Create on-demand reports for management.
  • Other duties as required.
Requirements: 

Systems Analyst

Server & Network Administration + Technical End-User Support

Tampa, FL

The ideal Systems Analyst candidate will have strong interpersonal, analytical, and critical thinking skills. As part of a small tech team, this role includes a variety of responsibilities ranging from Tier 1 Customer Support to administration of server and network components of the IT infrastructure. The environment calls for proficiency in Windows Administration, Networking, Virtualization, Backup and Disaster Recovery, and Security best practices, with aptitude and willingness to be trained on and / or independently learn new technologies.

Tech Requirements:

  • AT LEAST 4 years' experience in enterprise technologies: 
    1. Windows Server & Active Directory (2012 and later) 
    2. Office 365 – hosted Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Skype for Business, etc.
    3. VMware (vSphere 6) competency in administering clustered, highly-available environments.
    4. Backup / disaster recovery (Veeam or similar)
    5. Wearing multiple hats in an enterprise environment
    6. Network WAN / LAN troubleshooting - OSI model methodology.
    7. Email troubleshooting, SMTP relaying, Outlook and hosted e-mail protection.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in hardware, software, operating systems, networking, remote connectivity and desktop knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills - communicate directly across functional teams toward common solutions
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills - proficient with tech documentation (Visio, user help-guides) and diagramming tools.
  • Self-starter; proactive in downtime.
  • Ability to learn effectively and retain the information; ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to work with current technologies in a challenging environment

 

Preferred Skills / Experiences:

  • MCP, MCSA (server 2012 or later)
  • vmWare VCA-DCV in vSphere 6.0+ or later
    1. vSAN mgmt = big +
    2. Hyperconverged Infrastructure experience = major ++
  • Network+ or CCNA
  • Bachelor's Degree in technology-related field
